Electricity, in addition to its large participation in the preparation and review of many technical and economic studies related to the international electrical interconnection and electricity markets. All these activities and developments are aimed at achieving Those strategic goals and there have been many developments that have already been made along those paths.
First: Achievements of the Bilateral Electrical Interconnection:

Serious and tangible steps
Egyptian-Libyan Linkage
Egyptian-Jordanian Linkage
Egyptian-Saudi Linkage
Egyptian-Sudanese Linkage
Egyptian-Gulf Connectivity (in cooperation with the GCC Interconnection Authority)

Second: Achievements to strengthen African ties - Progress in the Continental Electricity Interconnection Project and SouqContinental Electricity

• Supervising Egypt's sponsorship of the continental electrical interconnection project, provided that it is in the form of technical support for the project, at the request of NEPAD, as it was announced on the sidelines of the activities of the fifth infrastructure week PIDA week 2019, in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, within the framework of implementing the directives of the political leadership.
• (Cairo-Cape Town Electricity Transmission Corridor) In January 2020, the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company prepared a preliminary study for the continental electrical interconnection between Cairo - Cape Town and parallel to the land road being worked on between Cairo and Cape Town, this project aims to be used as a major route for interconnection through Africa to unload the capabilities of the Inga Dam in the Democratic State of the Congo, as well as this project was included in the study of the continental electrical interconnection under the auspices of NEPAD.
The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, as an arm of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, in cooperation with it and with all authorities in the state, took vigorous steps in that context, the last of which was participation in the visit of a high-level delegation from the Egyptian state, represented by all state agencies, headed by Dr. Al-Wazir, to the Democratic State of Congo to complete the achievements of this road.
• Cooperation with African countries: The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company is making the utmost efforts to consolidate these relations in the field of renewable energy in general and in the supply and implementation of solar energy systems in particular, exchanging experiences in the fields of production, transmission and distribution of electricity and renewable energy, and sending experts to research and study electrical projects and see their actual requirements in order to provide the necessary advisory services, according to the needs of African countries, and it is expected during the year (2020-2021) to achieve. It is worth mentioning that EEHC participates in all events and meetings with the relevant ministries in related projects, for example the Vicmed Navigation Corridor project. Within the framework of cooperation with the Nile Basin countries and the plan to rationalize the consumption of Nile water, and in light of the current conditions to achieve the state's strategy in the file of water rationalization, and in light of the directives of the political leadership regarding the urgent measures of the plan to rationalize water consumption at the state level, the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company has already taken many serious steps and will continue during the coming period to complete the necessary steps to achieve the fore mentioned rationalization strategy.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and the Cypriot company (Euro-Africa Interconnector) to prepare a technical and economic feasibility study for the electrical interconnection project between (Egypt - Cyprus) and from there to Greece with a capacity of 2000 MW, and a non-disclosure agreement was signed between the concerned authorities. In October, two contracts for technical, financial and legal consultancy were signed to review the documents submitted by the project developer to implement the first phase of the project with a capacity of 1000 MW, and to open a market. A hybrid on the electrical interconnection line (regulated market and competitive one).
Fifth: The axis of interconnection and the electricity market with the East and China:

In order to transform Egypt into an energy hub, and in order to exploit the great opportunities for generating clean electricity from solar energy and wind farms and the measures taken to establish the first plant for the production of solar energy and wind farms, and in order to take advantage of investment opportunities in energy, the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has signed a cooperation protocol with the Organization for Development and Cooperation for Global Energy Interconnection (GEIDCO) in the fields of training, smart grids and technical support.EEHC (as a member of the organization) also participates in meetings, conferences and workshops organized by GEIDCO at the African and international levels in the fields of international connectivity and markets.Electricity, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Expanding the use of natural gas as fuel for power plants instead of diesel to reduce the cost of electricity production and reduce environmental pollution with the increase in Egyptian stocks of natural gases
The policy of replacing natural gas with liquid fuels (diesel – diesel) was followed due to its clear economic and environmental advantage. The percentage of natural gas use for stations connected to the gas network reached (82.1%) while the percentage reached (76.4%) of the total fuel consumed.
Attracting local and foreign investments to finance electricity and energy projects to reduce the burdens on the state to facilitate procedures for investors and encourage local and foreign investments, a guide has been prepared and printed to be delivered to investors explaining the steps and procedures for obtaining the service and the establishment of a website that includes the aforementioned guide and is also used to receive investors' questions and inquiries and respond to them and present available investment opportunities.
Promoting the development and use of renewable energy sources It should be noted that there is a Zafarana area on the Gulf of Suez the largest wind station in the Middle East and Africa with a capacity of 140 MW.
