Dr. Mahmoud Ismat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, departed from Cairo this evening, Monday, heading to Namibia to represent Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly at the African Global Hydrogen Summit. The summit will take place in Windhoek, the Namibian capital, from September 3-5, 2024, under the theme "From Ambition to Action: Maximizing the Green Industrial Revolution in Africa." The event will bring together heads of countries, government agencies, industry pioneers, project developers, investors, thought pioneers , and technologists from across Africa and around the world. It will also involve key stakeholders focusing on directing investments and financing towards viable green energy projects and showcasing Egyptian projects and investments in hydrogen, renewable energy, infrastructure, transportation, and more.

The agenda includes discussions on the role African countries can play in the global hydrogen sector, enhancing cooperation and dialogue through policies, mobilizing investments, and developing the emerging hydrogen value chain. Dr. Mahmoud Ismat is expected to present Egypt's vision and strategy for green hydrogen, outline the steps taken to support work in this field, and hold numerous meetings with ministers and officials responsible for green hydrogen. The summit will also feature a large-scale global exhibition of technology and innovation, a platform for startups, and opportunities for establishing new partnerships in the field of green hydrogen.
